ABOUT OUR IMPACT
Why Literacy Matters
Literacy is more than just reading and writing—it’s the foundation for a better life. In Beaufort County, nearly one in six adults struggles with basic literacy skills. This challenge touches every aspect of our community, from workforce readiness to healthcare, from parenthood to citizenship.
By teaching adults to read, we build stronger families, a more skilled workforce, and a healthier, more vibrant community for all.
